My attempt at building model aircraft. I normally build 1/48 but can be tempted by others, but not 1/144. I'm not a super detailing model maker but if it looks good to me then it goes in the cabinet.

It's a monster
Wow ! Just had my first proper look at the sea vixen. If this is what airfix are going to produce from now on I'm a very happy bunny. The detail is nicely done. The cockpit seems to have a nice level of detail, not to sure about the seats yet. One look at the nose cone tells you this is a big aircraft.

Wish a tornado would come and blow this away
I've got to the stage where everytime I do or add something, I ruin what I've done before. The boz pod is about to go in the bin. I've managed to mould some milliput to make a skyshadow pod. Just to top it all off I think the landing gear is the wrong colour. Grrrrrr !

Retail therapy
I decided to brave the shops yesterday with a trip to Lakeside. I got some modelzone vouchers for Christmas and needed (yes ! needed) to spend them. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of different manufactures that they stock now. The usual suspects were there but also some Eduard, Dragon and Roden.
I picked up a few kits, all 1/72.
- Revell Gloster Gladiator
- Airfix Hawk T MK1A
- Italeri Starfighter
- Revell F16B Fighting Falcon (Only £4.99 in the sale)
I also got a few paints and some more masking tape.
The big bonus being that i walked out with some money left.

Change of heart
Some of the decals I had put on started to flake off for whatever reason , so I pulled the rest off and replaced them with some 617 sqn markings from an radical sheet I had. I had to paint the radome again and the top of the tail.

Still lots to do
As the title says, I've still got a long way to go on this one. This will take me up to Xmas hopefully. Then I can get the sea vixen unwrapped and start on it.

Tornado gr.4
I said it would be something modern so here it is. I've got some nice decals to go on it but I may use the kit ones because I have some nice pictures of one with very worn fuel tanks.

What next ?
Going to quickly get the spitfire canopy done. Then what to do next, I was going to tackle the revell 1/72 Lancaster but I've lost the instructions. I'm leaning towards something modern, typhoon or harrier. I think it maybe time to get the kits out one by one and have a good look. Let's. See what jumps out at me.
